I’m friends with and work with fans of all teams but there is something totally different certain Spurs fans. You really cannot have a sensible conversation about their team or football in general with them and when we play them whether we win lose or draw against them it’s the same old shit memes or “your cup final” texts messages or tags in “Spurs Banter” pages! No other fans of other teams I know do anything close to this.

I had an argument with a spurs fan the other day because he couldn't understand it when I said every season West Ham will always have more of a chance of silverware than Spurs.
When they line up next week with 5 big names rested including Kane on the bench !!
They play for 4th every year, they cannot win the Champs league, they will be spent by the time the latter stages of the FA cup and the bigger top 4 squads will be better by the time it comes round !
So basically in Summation (I said) West Ham have got more chance of winning the League cup than spurs have of winning the league, FA Cup or champions league !
The league cup is the best chance they have but they are "too big" to take it seriously !!!!

Crassus - I’ve always preferred to follow and watch my team, never felt the need to prove myself by going along with the rivalry thing other than the usual arguments/friendly banter. I certainly have never told my kids they have to
detest Millwall. I know plenty what you would call old school or proper West Ham that will sit with rivals in the pub but at the same time claim to detest them.
So I guess I should know better but it’s not for me

I have quite a few mates who are Spurs fans. Absolutely top blokes.
Start talking about football though and they become complete knobheads.
They like to pretend that they don’t care about us and it’s all one way, but that is total bullshit. When they take the piss I just say that I thought they weren’t bothered about us.

Crassus - rivalries are a load of old bollocks and those who confirm to such rivalries are nothing but sheep.
My dog thinks he hates squirrels and chases them around the park because that’s what he’s supposed to do. One day, one of them turned and fronted him and he shit himself, didn’t know what to do.
That’s what football rivalry is all about. People do it so they feel like they belong and it’s what they’re supposed to do. 99.9% would happily sit in a pub and have a beer with one of their rivals though.

Most of our lot hate spurs with a passion. There are many good reasons to detest tottenham and each of us have their own reasons for hating them. We are the same to them as they were to Arsenal for about three decades. The only difference being Arsenal were actually winning things as opposed to spurs' bottling it.
I see the comments and reaction from the fourbys on the internet and wonder who thinks of it as a cup final. That is the big difference between them and us. We acknowledge our hatred of them and they try to make out they couldn't give a fuck, which is patently untrue.
I think they will continue winning fuck all from what I saw today, They were arsehole lucky to win one of their biggest games of the season.

Rivalries carry different currency, as I explained to my lad
Spurs are despised, utterly despised, but via contempt for their self appointed importance on and off the pitch, which we have realligned repeatedly over the years and continue to enjoy
Man Utd are despised on account of the fan history of the Cockney Reds and they being straightened out in the seventies and twice being denied the title they craved via fan frenzy revving the players beyond ability
But the real rivals are only Millwall, truly rivals. The absence of playing them does not diminish the inherent, historic and genetic hatred. I said to my boy, sometime in the future we will play them, and you will see, from both sides old cunts turn out who know the score and yoots who are drawn by a calling, an inate calling - then my son you will see what football rivalry is about
I also said, that they are the only 'rival' that I respect, further definition of a true rival.

I think West Ham as a football club, we are lucky to be on the same pitch as them as they are such a massive club it really is our cup final ,its all we do all year is look forward to this fixture, forget Man Utd ,Liverpool etc ,Spurs are a bigger club than any of these !
